December 2006 MCS meeting minutes (Previous Page)

The Dec 20, 2006 meeting began at 7:10 PM in the Richland library with 6 members present. The minutes were read and accepted. The treasurer's report was not given.

The 2007 slate of club officers was ratified. The new officers are:
President: Don Stewart
Vice President: John Reck
Webmaster and Event Coordinator: Kirby Parker
Recording Secretary and Safety Officer: Joe Campbell
Secretary/Treasurer: Doug Coleman

Doug reports that Jay has been researching incorporating the club. His opinion is that the
federal paperwork is more than we really want to get involved with. If the AMA insists on
incorporation, Joe will take on the bureaucratic hoop jumping.

The Dates for the combat match are now set for March 24-25. Prizes will be $300 in gift
certificates in addition to custom medals as in previous years. Joe and Don will procure them.
Don will apply for an AMA sanction as a "Fun Fly" event.

Regular monthly public library meetings have not produced the hoped for increase in club
membership. Almost all business has been conducted by the same few officers and active members.
Therefore, in 2007, the officers will conduct most club business and most decisions will be made
by appropriate committees. Meetings will be called as necessary by President Don and held in his
shop. We anticipate more fun and less hassle including "show and tell", group help on member
projects, and refreshments.

We should complete the third portable T.D. winch/retriever early next season. Larry Fitch will
take custody.

Doug will make a concerted effort to bring in new members from groups of recently discovered
park and indoor flyers.

Reminder and restatement of the previously decided "family membership" club fee - $30.00 per household.
